World Venture: Dr. David & Sarah Halter

Imagine you had appendicitis and needed life saving surgery, and the nearest surgeon was 2 days away. That is the reality for millions of people across Africa. In Tanzania, there are roughly 150 surgeons of any kind for over 40 million people. That is like 3 surgeons for the entire city of Detroit.  David Halter is a general surgeon from Lafayette, and in June, 2015, moved his family to Tanzania.  David will train, mentor and disciple African surgeons who love Jesus, see themselves as missionaries, and are committed to  serving their own people. David will play an important part in developing a sustainable surgical workforce leaving a legacy that will change Africa. The Halter Family plan to stay in Tanzania for 10+ years.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a mission of Samaritan’s Purse, ships  millions of shoeboxes, that are packed each year,  to needy children around the world.  Samaritans Purse is a non-denominational evangelical Christian International Relief Organization based in Boone, North Carolina.  In 2016, Fowler Christian Church packed 333 boxes, and has served as a drop-off site for other area churches for over 5 years. To learn how you can get involved visit.

Millie Rogers Maximo
Millie is from the Benton County area and grew up in Fowler Christian Church. Millie is now a missionary to Honduras and lives with her husband Alan and children in the city of San Pedro Sula, Cortes. Millie helps schools throughout Central America become licensed & certified in instruction. FCC Supports Millie through our Missions Team.
Short Term Mission Teams
FCC also supports our own mission teams as we commission & send out teams throughout the year. In 2016 FCC sent a mission team to Haiti to work alongside our friends at Haitian Christian Outreach. In 2017 a team was sent to Honduras to build a house, and a church for  local minister in a small town outside of San Pedro Sula. In 2018 FCC built our second home/church for a Honduran pastor and his family. In 2019 we will do it again! We will continue to send teams around the world to shed a light, and to be that city on a hill.
